Cathedral Brings Catechesis of the Good Sheperd to Children's Religion Classes

The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is excited to announce that the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) has become part of our children's religion program.

The Atria at the Cathedral is located on the third floor of the grade school. Level One of program is being introduced to children ages 3 to 6 this fall, with a new level of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd being added each year over the next three years.

The Atria will also be easily accessible to the children attending the Cathedral grade school so that Catechesis of the Good Shepherd can become part of their religious formation. The hope and the prayer are that as Catechesis of the Good Shepherd grows in our parish, the Atria will become a center for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for the whole diocese.

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is the meeting of two mysteries – the mystery of God and the mystery of the child. It recognizes that from the very beginning of life the deepest need of children is to be in relationship not only with their environment and those around them but most especially with their Creator.
