The Cathedral Parish celebrates spring with an annual picnic held on the church grounds. The Knights of Columbus provide grilled burgers and hot dogs, while parishioners bring all the fixings. Games and activities are available for both children and adults.
Each spring the Women of the Cathedral serve an Italian Dinner for parishioners and friends. Highlights include an Hors d'oeuvre Contest for males only, along with a live and silent auction. Proceeds from the event support this ministry which provides service and social opportunities for women of the parish.
Supporting our twinning parish, Notre Dame d’Altagrace in Layaye, Haiti, has become a wonderful tradition of fellowship that reaches beyond our parish campus. Held in January, this fundraiser begins with individual dinner parties at homes of parishioners. After the dinners, everyone comes together to celebrate the evening with a dessert party and silent auction in Marian Hall.
The Mardi Gras Auction, sponsored by the Immaculate Conception Cathedral School, is traditionally held on the Saturday before Ash Wednesday. Each year the gymnasium is transformed into a bit of New Orleans with home cooked Cajun food, along with the best auction in town. All proceeds support the parish school.
The Fall Festival, sponsored by the Immaculate Conception Cathedral School, is held in October on the campus grounds. There is something for everyone at this outdoor event – a chili cook-off contest, games for the children, delicious barbeque, and live music. All proceeds support the parish school.
