Dear Cathedral Parishioners and Visitors

Peace in the Lord! Welcome to the Web site for the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception! At this site I invite you to pass through “doorways” or links which give glimpses into the multi-faceted life of the Cathedral Parish. Also, I join with Bishop J. Terry Steib, Bishop of Memphis, in inviting you to come through the main doorway of our beautiful Cathedral and join us in worship and witness.

Mission Statement
As the Mother Church - Serving Jesus in our worship and witness, Educating in our Catholic Faith, Uniting in our diversity.

Building upon a rich tradition that reaches back to 1921, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is also the “Mother Church” within our Catholic Diocese of Memphis. Our focus is always directed primarily on Christ Jesus as He is proclaimed by our Catholic faith. We most clearly reflect that focus on Christ as we gather each Sunday, and throughout the week, at the Eucharist. From that mystery emanates all other facets of our church life!

On our Web site I especially invite you to take a glimpse at Immaculate Conception Cathedral School. Now into its 85th year on this midtown campus, our school gives a rare example within this metropolitan area of rich ethnic diversity, academic excellence and a deep commitment to the Christian life within our Catholic tradition. Immaculate Conception Cathedral School has an elementary school (pre-K through 8th grade) for boys and girls, and a high school for girls.

Again, I invite you to come for a visit to our Cathedral! We gather as the Cathedral Parish under the patronage of Mary, the Mother of our Savior, and we pray that we as a people might be as faithful in doing God’s will as was Mary in her witness.

Sincerely

Father Val
