Easter Church

Welcome!

Welcome to the online home of the mother church of the Diocese of Memphis! We hope you will make use of the resources collected on this site. We especially want to welcome visitors, and want to invite you to take a look through the site, and contact us if there is any way we can assist you on your faith-journey. To our parishioners, please take advantage of the information on this site. Much happens at the Cathedral and we hope you will stay involved.

153 Initiative

O God,
ever faithful, ever true,
We thank You that You call us as church
to make the journey of faith together.
May Your Son Jesus,
the Crucified One, Now Risen,
show Himself to us that He might direct us from
fruitless toil to a generous catch for the Kingdom!
May His Holy Spirit lead us to
praise you with joy in His name.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen

Please continue to pray daily the prayer given above, that the Risen Jesus might truly direct us as we pray together and as we look to our future.

Haiti Ministry Trip and Yard Sale

Our Haiti Ministry has a mission trip planned for mid August. They will be providing a dental clinic to the people of Layaye and will be assisting with the new trade school. Please consider donating the following for the trip: toothbrushes, dental floss, toothpaste, embroidery thread and hoops, clothes patterns, pins, needles and other sewing supplies and sunglasses. Also, make plans to clean up the attic and garage and donate your items for the Haiti Yard Sale on Saturday, August 21st.

Cathedral Night at the Redbirds

Make plans to attend our annual night at Autozone Park as we gather for fellowship and to watch the Redbirds take on the Round Rock Express. To start things off, our 2010 3rd and 4th grade Wildcat baseball team will take part in the "Field of Dreams" and go out on the field with the players for the National Anthem. And to end the night on a loud note, a spectacular fireworks show is planned. Stay tuned for info on how to purchase your tickets.

Roman Missal Change

Have you heard about the Roman Missal Change? The words we pray at Mass everyday will be changing effective Advent of 2011. To better understand the background of the Mass, we will have Liturgy Study Sessions starting this fall. The sessions are part of the preparation process for the changes next year.
